WPaboutI started this blog more or less just to dip my toe in the blogosphere, although it has taken on a life of its own. The title is not literally true, although I do tend to write about films I have viewed recently. In this sense, it is an extension of a database I keep that tracks my viewing habits.

All of these essays are short, with a self-imposed limit of 500 words. I don’t pretend that they express the definitive opinion of a film, even for myself. Rather, the essays express thoughts resulting from a particular viewing. The basis for those thoughts is broad, although you may detect a prejudice in favor of some directors whose work has influenced my own.

As a filmmaker and a critic, I try to enrich both activities with insights gleaned from the other. Many of my films are online at vimeo, if you want to get a sense of what comes from the cross-pollination. Hopefully you’ll find the hybrid rewarding.

And of course, feel free to friend/follow me @ Facebookgoogle+twitter

Thanks for visiting What I Watched Last Night… I hope to hear from you.

  1. I have nominated you for The Versatile Blogger Award, as you have consistently produced one of the most interesting and informed film sites available. It’s always a genuine pleasure to read your thoughts on the cinema.

    • Thanks so much for the nomination and kind words. It will be a few days before I can put together my response, but this is a real treat. Thanks again.
